I am a photographer turned web developer with a passion for integrating powerful visuals into interactive web content. Born and raised in Orlando, FL, I was first exposed to HTML in an elementary school computer lab, creating sites remniscent of “The World’s Worst Website Ever!”
After relocating to North Carolina to pursue a degree in photojournalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I decided to teach myself more advanced web development skills in order to create a portfolio site for my photography and never looked back.
In the spring of 2013 I chose to focus full-time on interactive web development, and began supplementing online tutorials with courses as part of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication’s interactive multimedia journalism sequence.
My approach to web development is heavily influenced by my visual background, with an emphasis on visual content and interactive multimedia elements, which played a key role in my development of the website for the interactive documentary Over Water Under Fire.
